Most WordPress sites in Bhutan share a story. A developer built it with a page builder, left, and now nobody can change the rates without breaking the layout. The plugins have not been updated since 2022 and the home page takes 9 seconds on B-Mobile. We build the other kind: a plain theme, the block editor, and staff who can change a price on a Tuesday afternoon without calling anyone.
What this looks like
A custom block theme, drawn from your brand, with no page builder. Every page is made of the standard blocks WordPress ships with, so editing is a matter of clicking on the text and typing. Rates tables, itineraries, staff pages, a notice board, vacancies: all editable by the people who own the information.
Forms go to your email and to WhatsApp if you like. Images are compressed for 4G. Dzongkha and English can sit side by side with a proper Tibetan-script font.
The site is fast because it is simple. A booking page of the kind we designed for drukdrive loads in under 2 seconds on a Thimphu 4G connection, and it stays that way because there is nothing to bloat.
How we work
Content first. We list every page and who writes it before we draw anything, because waiting for text is what makes a 3-week site take 3 months. Then design, then a build on a staging link you can check on your own phone, then training.
Training is a recorded 60-minute session with whoever will edit the site. We watch them add a page, change a price and upload a photo. If they get stuck, we fix the site, not the person.
Launch is on a weekday morning, Bhutan Time, with redirects from every old URL and a check that Google can see the new pages.
What it costs
From Nu. 18,000 for a 5- to 8-page site with a custom theme, forms and training, in 2 to 4 weeks. Larger sites are quoted by page count. The first month of hosting and updates is included; after that it is Nu. 7,500 a year on our WordPress hosting plan. Half to begin, half at launch, in Nu. by mBoB or bank transfer.

06FAQ
Questions people ask first.
01 We have a Wix or Squarespace site. Can you move it to WordPress?
Yes. Neither exports cleanly, so we rebuild the pages, copy the text and images across, and set up redirects so old links and Google results keep working. This is our Website migration service; if you need a new design as well, it becomes a WordPress project.
02 Can the site be in Dzongkha and English?
Yes. We set up 2 languages with a switcher and a Unicode Tibetan-script font that renders on every phone without installing DDC fonts. You supply the Dzongkha; we do not translate.
03 Why not Elementor or Divi? Our last developer used one.
Page builders are why your last site is slow and hard to edit. We use the block editor that ships with WordPress, so there is no yearly licence, no plugin that breaks on update, and any WordPress developer in Bhutan or abroad can maintain it after us.
04 Can customers pay on the site in Nu.?
Through the RMA payment gateway, yes, but your bank has to approve the merchant account first and that can take weeks. We quote it separately and start the paperwork early. Bookings by form, WhatsApp and bank transfer work from day 1.
